Dear Parents/Guardians,
EGMS faculty and staff are excited to welcome students back to school! Please note the important information regarding school policies. We appreciate your support and assistance with adhering to these procedures.
DRESS CODE
The following dress code applies to ALL students and will be enforced.
Students are NOT permitted to wear:
§ Any clothing or accessories that do not cover undergarments, midriff, or backside
§ Any clothing, jewelry, or accessories that may be considered obscene, suggestive pictures or words, inappropriate language or references
§ Any clothing, jewelry, or accessories that may be considered offensive, Derogatory pictures or words Racial, cultural, religious, or sexual slurs or pictures
§ Any clothing, jewelry, or accessories that may be used as a weapon, chains, spiked jewelry, metal pins, etc.
§ Any clothing, jewelry, or accessories with pictures or words referring to tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs.
§ No trench coats
§ Pants must not be worn below hips
§ Necklines must not be revealing
§ Shirts, blouses, or dresses are to completely cover the shoulders. This includes off the shoulder tops.
§ When wearing jeans with holes, holes may be no higher than finger-tip length
§ Men’s shirts must have sleeves
§ Women’s shirts may not have spaghetti straps
§ No blankets are to be worn over clothing
§ No pajamas may be worn
§ No fishnet hosiery
§ No costume attire (animal ears, capes, etc.)
§ No hats, caps, or other head coverings with the exception of religious or health reasons
CELL PHONES / EAR BUDS / SMART WATCHES
Cell phones must be turned off and stored in lockers. Ear buds and smart watches are to be stored in lockers as well. These devices are not to be used throughout the day including bus hall, lunch and recess times.
WATER BOTTLES
Students may use a CLEAR water bottle that contains water only. Water flavorings are not permitted.
GUM
Gum is not permitted in the school building or on buses.
